As agreed at the organizational meeting on 7 Oct, the course will be held Fridays 15:00 - 17:00 live (in person). The first lecture will be 18 Nov. 2022 at the UBB 5th floor seminar room (Rm 5131 Djerassiplatz 1)
Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Introduction to the fundamental principles of bioacoustics, with a focus on vertebrates. We cover vocal production (source-filter theory), hearing, and sound propagation in the environment. A strong focus is on understanding key analysis methods in bioacoustics, especially the Fourier transform.
