The course will be held on Weds 11:00 - 12:30, but will be blocked. 8-9 lectures, starting (earliest) on 23 October.
We will have an Introductory meeting to determine the final schedule on Weds, 2 October, at 11:00, in Seminar Room 5.021 UBB.
Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Introduction to the fundamental principles of bioacoustics, with a focus on vertebrates. We cover vocal production (source-filter theory), hearing, and sound propagation in the environment. A strong focus is on understanding key analysis methods in bioacoustics, especially the Fourier transform.
