Assignments to groups will take place after the registration period: to this end there will be a poll in Moodle where students can indicate their preferred groups; this information will be used for the final assignments to groups.

The course is offered exclusively in presence (hybrid teaching is currently not planned). In case it should be necessary to shift to digital teaching, students will be informed on-time here as well as via e-mail.

Mandatory equipment:
(1) preparation tools for microscopy (pointed forceps, 2 preparation needles, 2 razor blades or 1 scalpel, 2 microscope slides, cover glasses) - available online (beyond the usual suspects like Amazon) from, for instance, https://www.betzold.at/cat/3530030/
(2) magnifying glass (ideally as folding lens, as this is perfectly suited also for field work) with 10- to 20-fold magnification - available online (beyond the usual suspects like Amazon) from, for instance, https://www.lupenhandel.de/Einschlaglupen/
(3) smooth plotting paper (A4 or A5), pencil (HB), rubber and pencil sharpener
Recommended equipment:
(4) For reasons of hygiene it is recommended to wear, when working at the microscope, laboratory glasses (protective glasses; available online at, for instance, https://www.office-discount.at ; price about 5 to 20 €)
