Introduction into the knowledge and study of all kinds of useful plants of the world, temperate and tropical, including those of only regional importance. Emphasis is laid on (general) biological issues (in contrast to applied, agricultural ones). Domestication of cultivated plants as a model for general processes of plant evolution. Connections with all the fields of botany mentioned in the subtitle. Demonstration of living plants in the Botanical Garden and presentation of color slides.
