Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture will review the physical and chemical characteristics of the marine environment and relate these to the ecology of microbial communities in the water column, sediments, hot vents. Special emphasis will be given to the ecology of microbes in relation to biogeochemical cycles in the ocean and to the expected changes of the climate regimens in the ocean.
The lecture will be held in English.

Assessment and permitted materials

Oral exam with 10 open questions;

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Oral exam with 10 questions, each rated with a maximum of 10 points. At least 50 points have to be reached to be positively evaluated.
