Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Aim of the course is to demonstrate the relationship between biosynthesis and expression of specialized ("secondary") plant metabolites in an ecological context. Structural features are presented shortly, and functional aspects are addressed. Selected case studies highlight biotic and abiotic interactions, complemented by examples of current research.Students are able to address important compound classes of secondary metabolites and their representatives that are essential for survival of plants in their enviroment.
Assessment and permitted materials
Written exam
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Positive credit with more than 50% of possible maximum points. There are 6 questions, each equalling 6 points. Credit: 0-18= 5; 18,5-22,5=4; 23-27=3; 27,5-31,5=2; 32-36=1
Examination topics
