Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In Austria as well as in neighbouring countries, floristic mapping serves the goal to establish precisely the geographical distribution of all species of Higher Plants growing in the wild within the territory. Working in small groups, the participants in the course get acquainted with the methods of the relevant botanical field exploration, they enhance their knowledge of species, and they learn to understand the relations between landscape structure, habitat availability, and species' distribution patterns. At the same time, they contribute to the creation of a valuable stock of floristical records.
