Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture focuses on the empirical and quantitative assessment of theoretical concepts in developmental and evolutionary biology, such as allometry, heterochrony, modularity, morphological integration, asymmetry and developmental stability, morphospaces, etc. Basics in biology, particularly evolutionary developmental biology (EvoDevo), statistics, morphometrics, and quantitative genetics will be taught.
Depending on the students, the course will be held in German or English.
In the seminar, students will present a relevant article by a 15-minutes talk (German or English), followed by common discussion.
