Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Methods involved in DNA sequencing, including next generation sequencing, will be introduced. Students will prepare their own sequences, learn how to align them and perform phylogenetic analyses. Different phylogenetic analyses such as Maximum parsimony, Maximum likelihood and Bayesian (using PAUP) will be introduced. This block course will contain both lectures and practicals for one week.
Assessment and permitted materials
1. Participation during the course (UE)
2. PowerPoint presentation at the end of the course (15 mins: introduction, materials & methods, results, discussion)
3. Written protocol till mid of December (before Christmas Holidays) in sientific publication style (introduction, materials & methods, results, discussion, references)
