Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The following items are subject of the lecture:
Overview of the anthropogenic impacts on waters; abiotic and biotic typology of water bodies; hydraulic engineering - river restoration / rehabilitation; waste water treatment; biological water quality; national and international legal regulations; Federal Water Act, Water Framework Directive; wetlands; ecological status of Austrian waters; situation of groundwater in Austria.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written examination at the end of the semester, 25 January 2024. The use of KI tools is not allowed.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students have knowledge about the ecological status of waters, the legistic framework, factors influencing the ecological status, river typology.

Examination topics

Material of the exam is subject of the lecture. there is no scriptum available.
Literature and relevant links are sent out per email.
Lecture with ppt and videos. The active participation of the students is welcome.
