Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The goal of the research project is to provide insights into the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the development of neural circuits in the brain. Using the experimental model system Drosophila defined neurons in the brain will be visualized gene functions will be manipulated in a cell-type specific manner. A variety of molecular and genetic techniques will be applied including transgene expression, induction of genetic mosaics, high-resolution confocal microscopy and 3D data processing. The research project includes bench work as well as lectures and seminars.
