Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course focuses on animal behavior research methods. Students (in groups of two to three) plan and carry out projects that involve conducting a thorough literature search, collecting and analyzing data, and writing a scientific report.
You will learn how to collect data systematically, how to establish an ethogram, and how to write a proper scientific report.

Assessment and permitted materials

The applicants' presentation and final reports will be used for evaluation

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Each group of students must submit a scientific report.
Each person is required to observe a certain number of hours.

Examination topics

We will evaluate the quality of the scientific report. We expect an extensive literature search and reference list, a generell knowledge about the topic (e.g. methods, biology of the species that has been investigated,...), will consider the quality of the data and data analysis and will evaluate the general approach to the scientific topic.
