Aims, contents and method of the course

The subject of this lecture will be on different model organisms (C. elegans, Drosophila melanogaster, Xenopus, Zebrafish, Chicken and Mouse) and their use in cell and developmental biology. The pros and cons of the different model organisms and various techniques to modulate gene expression or to address the origin of tissues and cells will be explained as well as their use to address specific biological questions.
