Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course teaches preparation-techniques for light- and electron microscopy. Furthermore the students learn the basics in seed plants anatomy.
Assessment and permitted materials
(1) a written protocol in the style of a manuscript and (2) active participation. Protocols not delivered in time will be assessed as negative.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students prepare plant specimens for light microscopy (microwave fixation, Kulzer-embedding, microtomy, different staining techniques, digital documentation) and interprete the results (incl. Literature).
For the TEM-part prefabricated and contrasted sections are analyzed under the transmission electron microscope and documented digitally.
