Aims, contents and method of the course

The goal of the course is to illustrate the central concepts of developmental biology by using classical experimental embryology experiments. The students will see how embryonic cells perceive and interpret positional information and take upon various developmental fates based on it.

Content:
Hydra transplantations and regeneration experiments
Nematostella: development and regeneration
Xenopus: "Spemann"-experiment
