Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment of tropical biodiversity (birds, butterflies), colonization ecology of remote habitat islands, ecology of succession of animal communities, concepts in island biogeography and alternative assembly rules.
Assessment and permitted materials
A written report has to be submitted after the end of the course. This report must be written in English.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Examination topics
Field work (point census counts, transect counts), multivariate analysis of biodiversity data, tackling the problem of incomplete surveys and sampling errors in field ecology.
