Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Eastern Austria is rich in habitat types and, thus, harbours a particularly species-rich flora covering a broad elevational amplitude. The aim of these excursions is to deepen and expand the knowledge on plant species, their ecological requirements, taxonomical status and potential causes of threat, by visiting representative and mainly ecologically valuable locations in protected areas as well as in the ordinary landscapes. The participants are led by the course instructors but should also actively work together in small groups by anticipating the relevant information.

Assessment and permitted materials

presentations in the field (~25%), evaluation of the knowledge of species and oral contribution during the course (~75%)

50% of the maximum of points; autonomous use of determination keys
