300281 VO+UE History of the Quaternary vegetation (2008W)

In this lecture course the incisive vegetation changes during the last 1.8 mio years (glaciation, postglaciation) are demonstrated with pollen-diagrams and macrofossil assemblages (fruits, seeds and leaves). The students are learning the qualitative and quantitative techniques in pollen analysis and macrofossil analysis to apply their knowlege on particulary chosen fossil localities.
