Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Aim: Knowledge of Centraleuropean amphibian larvae
Program:
March 23, 2020, 13:00-17:00, Ü7: introduction lesson, determination of preserved larvae using a determination scriptum and a stereomicroscope
3 days with field excursions in June (dates above): Sampling in habitats with different amphibian species assemblages, live determination of the larvae using pocket lenses (8x-10x) and additional characters of living larvae.

Assessment and permitted materials

Attendance control, active participation in the laboratory course and the excursions and one-hour written exam with determination exercises on June 29, 2020. The determination scriptum may be used.
Covid-19 update: laboratory course was cancelled due to covid-19 prevention, the field excursions may take place obeying strict hygienic provisions. Grading will be based on the participation during the excursions.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Participation in the four days, positive teamworks
Pocket lenses (8x-10x) are absolutely necessary!!!
Grading system:
8 points for active participation (2 for each lesson) possible + 8 Points for the final exam = 16 points possible
15-16P: 1, 13-14 P: 2, 11-12P: 3, 9-10P: 4, 0-8P: 5
If more than one lesson is missed, the course cannot be completed positively.
Covid-19 update: Grading will be based on the participation during the excursions, participation in the excursions is obligatory.

3 determination exercises, one question concerning the visited habitats ( 2 points for each exercise = 8 points for the final exam can be reached)
