Aims, contents and method of the course
Pollination biology is one of the prominent disciplines of the connection of zoological and botanical contents. Themes are: Evolution of the Angiosperm flower, selective pressures from the pollinators, pollination syndromes (bat-, bird-, butterfly-, etc-pollination-systems), flower signals and their physiological significances, evolution of signals, deceptive flowers (nutritive, egg-laying-, sexual mimicry flowers), co-evolution systems, optimal foraging and the meaning for flower selection etc. are presented.
