Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture presents principles and regularities of riverine geomorphology. Concepts and terms with
regard to hydrogeomorphological processes will be explained as well as the basics in geology,
hydrology, and vegetation dynamics needed for comprehension. In the excursion part the geomorphological regularities are exemplified in a general survey of Eastern Alpine rivers. The final examination is done by presenting a thematic report.
