Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course is partially held in English! In three successive weeks the course gives and introduction to numerical data analysis, the underlying microscopically processes of spectroscopy and how to model them, the theory of spectroscopy and methods like UV-vis Spectroscopy, Circular Dichroism Spectroscopy and Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy. In addition their application in molecular biology / structural biology to analyse and characterize macromolecules (proteins, DNA) is shown.
Assessment and permitted materials
Compulsory attendance; the evaluation consists of different performances: active participation and results obtained, written report, theoretical knowledge including final exam (the percentage of the subgrades will be announced by the course leader); each of the subgrades must have a positive evaluation.
