Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture deals with basic ideas and methods of molecular evolutionary genetics, which will be illustrated by current research and classical papers. The topics comprise gene evolution, chromosome evolution, genome evolution, mobile DNA, non-coding DNA, neutral vs. adaptive evolution, epigenetics, molecular systematics, homology at the DNA level, molecular markers (DNA-sequences, mikrosatellites), "ancient DNA", phylogenetic trees, phylogeography, convergence, gene introgression, species concepts and speciation, conservation genetics, family pedigrees
Assessment and permitted materials
Die Prüfung findet als Multiple Choice-Prüfung statt: 40- 45 Fragen mit jeweils vier Antwortmöglichkeiten, davon mindestens eine, maximal 3 richtig. Für jede komplett richtig beantwortete Frage gibt es 2 Punkte. Pro fehlende oder falsch angekreuzte Antwort wird 1 Punkt abgezogen. Minimale Punktezahl pro Frage = 0.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Für einen positiven Abschluss müssen mehr als 50 % der maximalen Punkteanzahl erreicht werden.

Inhalte der Vorlesung; Bei der Prüfung wird geprüft, inwieweit die Inhalte verstanden wurden. zur Unterstützung werden Handouts ausgegeben.
