Aims, contents and method of the course

Principles of protein folding, role of molecular chaperones in protein folding; protein degradation.
Examples of pathologies with prominent protein folding defects: neuro-degenerative diseases, such as prion diseases, Alzheimer's, Huntington's, Parkinson's.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Verständnis grundlegender Mechanismen (und der Komplexität) der Proteinfaltung und wie deren Deregulation zu Pathologien führen kann.
