First meeting: DI 04.03.2014 11.00-12.00 Place: Seminar room (Faculty centre for Biodiversity) Rennweg EG (together with the seminar conservation politics); BUT all classes at the Althanstreet

First meeting is with compulsory presence (also representation with written authorization possible) due to the distribution of the limited participation opportunities and - if appropriate - of the creation of list of substitutes

Visit of the seminar together with the lecture conservation politics it utmost recommended (time of classes are also coordinated)

Aims, contents and method of the course

Interactive practical examples on the current and future implementation of nature conservation within environmental-, societal and economical policy including in-depth discussion and analysis of the different individual and collective interests influencing nature conservation politics and there organizational and procedural expressions (e.g. role games, hinds and tricks for negotiations)

Assessment and permitted materials

Diverse tasks have to be individually or in teamwork solved during the class in written form, the results are collected and judged

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To give basics of nature conservation policy in an interesting way

Examination topics

Oral introductionary PP presentation, roles games, interactions, negotiations, discussions, individual exercise solutions
