Students are strongly encouraged to bring their own material for CT scanning (max size: 65 x 65 x 100 mm), e.g. for a preliminary study or just for fun. Please note that material has to be infiltrated with contrasting agents before it can be scanned (the ticker the samples, the longer the infiltration). Please contact me (yannick.staedler@univie.ac.at room 417, tel: 01427754084) about 2-4 weeks before the course starts so that the samples can be properly prepared.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The main goal of this course is to provide students with the conceptual foundations, and practical skills that should enable them to understand how Computed Tomography (CT) of flowers functions. At the end of the course, the students should be able to design and carry out a basic CT based morphological studies of flowers. The course is taught from the perspective of evolutionary floral morphology, rather than from a mathematical morphometric perspective.
