Aims, contents and method of the course
The seminar is building upon the previous knowledge in hominid evolution and requests a deepened study of a selected subject in this context. Topics span from anatomical aspects (bipedalism, brain, mastication, metabolism, etc.) and specific issues of the known hominoid groups (systematics, morphology, ecology, behaviour, artefacts, etc.) to cross links in the context of evolutionary science (genetics, dating, evolutionary theories, religion, etc.).

Plenary talk and written essay
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
It is of special importance that students will take up their own position which they will defend during general discussion
Examination topics
Instructed literature search, 20 minutes plenary talk, discussion, writing of an essay.
