Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This practical course is directed towards advanced students in Anthropology. Students acquire knowledge on how to derive and investigate a research question, develop suitable questionnaires and behavior catalogues, observe behavior and conduct genetic analysis (SNPs), followed by statistical analysis and interpretation of the results. Progress will be reported via oral presentations. The course will conclude with a term paper matching the format of an original research article.
Assessment and permitted materials
Active participation, homework, interim and final presentation, term paper
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
A minimum of 50 points is required for the successful completion of the course. The single components are weighted as follows: regular attendance and active participation (20 points), oral presentations including slides (20 points), term paper (60 points).
