Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Each participant will choose one topic (viz. a small scientific project) that she/he will then work on under the supervision of the contributing faculty staff in the respective working groups and labs. This course is aimed at giving all new MEC studenst, in particular, a first opportunity to participate in research "hands on". Depending on the theme and the number of participants, students will either work individually, or in very small groups together.
Assessment and permitted materials
Depending on the research topic, a written report and an oral presentation in a seminar that is organized at the end of the teaching period. (Jan 2017)
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Active participation during the project work (70%) and final written report and oral presentation (30%)
Examination topics
Scientific lab work under direct supervision of faculty staff.
