Aims, contents and method of the course

This course examines international investment arbitration with the help of a course module developed for UNCTAD. The course module is available at http://r0.unctad.org/disputesettlement/course.htm
It will deal with various aspects of investment arbitration such as consent to arbitration, applicable law, procedural issues and post-award remedies.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

An individual paper at the end of the semester will be required to complete the seminar.

Examination topics

Participants will receive course material on a weekly basis for preparaion for the next meeting. This course requires intensive preparation for every meeting and active participation throughout. A good command of English and a background in international law are essential.
