Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lab course conveys the necessary knowledge to understand the technology of micro-computed tomography for high-resolution digitisation (1-100 µm) of three-dimensional objects and to carry out own measurements using the department's own facility. Furthermore, students will be able to process raw data, to segment objects of interest, to render 3D-reconstructions, and to measure landmarks.
Assessment and permitted materials
Written test
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Operation of the micro-CT scanner and handling of volume data incl. measuring profiles and histograms, segmentation, location of landmarks, import & export of data
Examination topics
Introductory presentation, exercises in scanning with the micro-CT, further processing of scanned data, exercises with other 3D data in different software (DigiCT, imageJ, MRIcron, Amira, Landmark)
