Aims, contents and method of the course
The basic laboratory course introduces into mineral nutrition. Plants are grown either with a full nutrient supplement or in cultures that are deficient in one nutrient (potassium, calcium, magnesium, nitrogen) or deficient in all nutrients (distilled water). Students are evaluating growth parameters, nutrient levels in leaves, stems and roots and whole-plant nutrient uptake.
