Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Understanding the principal concepts of eukaryotic plant cells, as well as the difference to procaryotic or animal cells. The students learn about the principles and correlations of structure and functions of living cells and specialised cell types.

Examination topics

Techniques for preparation and staining
light microscopy: bright field, dark field
fluorescence microscopy
Structure and function of the plant cell
The plant cell in comparison to cells of the other kingdoms of life
