Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course will focus on the selection and acquisition of data for morphometric analysis and the hardware and software available for these functions. Students will also be introduced to multivariate statistical methods and relevant software for shape analysis. The material should be appropriate for anthropologists, biologists, and anyone interested in the quantitative analysis of biological shape.
Assessment and permitted materials
Course assessment will be based on the oral presentation of results of a study project emulating a presentation at a professional meeting.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students upon completing the course will be able to identify and collect landmark coordinate data appropriate to their particular biological questions and use available morphometrics software for its analysis.
