Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Journal club: Recent interesting scientific literature on terrestrial biogeochemistry, ecosystem ecology and soil microbiology/ecology will be presented by the participants and discussed in the group. Joint selection of papers, in particular ones which focus on the effects of interactions between plants and soil microbes, and within soil microbial communities on ecosystem biogeochemistry and ecology. Students can chose a paper from literature provided by the instructor, but are also free to suggest articles of their own interest.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The aim of this course is to gain insight into the status quo of scientific research in the respective field. In addition, we will train the analysis of scientific primary literature, as well as the refinement and presentation of complex scientific topics.
