Aims, contents and method of the course
This Seminar provides the opportunity to present and discuss state of the art research results with a multidisciplinary audience. Selected topics in cell biology, genetics, biochemistry and bioinformatics are presented and critically discussed with an investment of 1 Sem.hour. Among the topics are: Mechanisms of: Mitotic and meiotic chromosome segregation, meiotic recombination and pairing of homologous chromosomes all in various model organisms, as well as biochemistry of the segregation aparatus and quantification of proteins and their modifications using mass spectrometry. For students engaged in masters-, or thesis projects. Registation required.
Assessment and permitted materials
Compulsory attendance; the evaluation consists of different performances: quality and completeness of the seminar presentation, active participation in the scientific discussion of the presented publications, written records (the percentage of the subgrades will be announced by the course leader); each of the subgrades must have a positive evaluation.
