Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This lecture provides an overview on the possibilities and limits of plant tissue culture systems for use in basic and applied research. The importance of plant growth regulators on modulation of growth and developmental processes will be stressed. Detailed topics include: a) clonal propagation, b) specific tissue culture related problems (e.g. endophytes, somaclonal variation), c) model systems to study plant-microbe-interactions, d) plant biotechnology and safety of transgenic plants.
