Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Human populations underlie biological regulations as well as they are influenced by cultural determinants. Both aspects will be focused concering the effects for human populations. The main theoretical implications and models of human population regulation processes will be presented.

Assessment and permitted materials

Part 1: Presence (minimum 50%) Course materials will be uploaded to Fronter
Part 2: Autonomous working without efficiency control
Part 3: Obligatory (!) presence during all (!) appointed dates of the final seminar

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Understanding of the pricipal determinants: Natality, Mortality and Migration. Overview of the state of the art of demographic research concerning human populations.

Examination topics

Part 1: Classical Lecture during the first part
Part 2: Autonomous editing of an actual journal-paper (in english)
Part 3: Presentation of the papers content during the final seminar (tba) (german or english alternatively)
