Aims, contents and method of the course

The course RNA profiling in microbiology/ immunology communicates theoretical and
practical knowledge necessary to quantify nucleic acid sequences using real-time (RT-) PCR.
Different fluorogenic dye and probe formats will be applied. The use of appropriate controls
(exogenous, endogenous, internal positive controls etc.) for gene expression analysis and
different methods for relative quantification will be discussed. max 16 students
