Aims, contents and method of the course

The course communicates theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to quantify nucleic acid sequences using reverse-transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). Different fluorogenic dye and probe formats of RT-qPCR will be applied. The use of reference sequences for molecular diagnostics and RNA expression analysis will be addressed. The course is designed for master students of the final trimester. max. 14 students

Assessment and permitted materials

Compulsory attendance; the evaluation consists of different performances: active participation and results obtained, written report, theoretical knowledge including final exam (the percentage of the subgrades will be announced by the course leader); each of the subgrades must have a positive evaluation.
