Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture gives an overview about the most important helminthozoonoses (helminthic dis-eases transmitted from animals to humans) in Central Europe. Among these parasites are trematodes, cestodes and nematodes, some of them cause only light diseases (i.e. beef tape-worm), on the other hand some are the causing organisms of rather severe diseases (i.e. fox tapeworm). The lecture gives an introduction into the epidemiology (prevalence, incidence, distribution), of the diseases, describes the ways of transmission, summarizes the clinical symptoms and lists the diagnostic, therapeutic and prophylactic features.
