Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In this lecture all European amphibian species are characterized. The chapters phylogeny, zoogeography, ecophysiology, developmental cycles, ethology and ecology are treated. The presentation is supported by several side series, movie passages and tape records. Problems of endangerment and conservation are discussed. In additon, the lecture deals with biology and ecology of Central European repitles.
Assessment and permitted materials
one hour written exam at the end of the semester, further appointments of oral exams possible
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Aim of the lecture is to provide a broad herpetological knowledge.
Examination topics
Lecture with powerpoint-presentation, slideshows, movies and tape records. A scriptum about the most important contents, lists of species and recommended literature is provided
