The course will combine introductory lectures with practical work. Lectures will introduce in programming basics and concepts (Python and R). Practical work will include vector data manipulation, mapping automatization, raster data processing, creation of toolboxes and a usage of web map services. Similar workflows will be run through on different platforms and interfaces.

Assessment and permitted materials

Positive evaluation requires regular presence and active work during the course.
Participants will work in groups of two. Each group will have its own 'project'. Evaluation will be based on work during the course on the evaluation of the produced scripts and on a final programming exercise.
