Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This lecture series introduces students to the following areas of animal physiology: Neuro- and sensory physiology, endocrinology, muscle and behavioral physiology. The main focus will be on basal mechanisms found in all or many animal groups. The close relationship between structure and function will be highlighted. After a general introduction the various sections of the lecture series will deal with (i) neurons and nervous systems, (ii) sensory systems, (iii) muscle and movement, (iv) humoral integration and (v) neuroethology.
Assessment and permitted materials
A written final examine covering all topics discussed in the lecture series.
