Diese Vorlesung ist geeignet für Hörer der Fachrichtung Medizin sowie auch der Fachrichtung Mikrobiologie / Molekulare Biologie.;Es ist vorgesehen, die Vorlesung im Mai/Juni 2013 im Hörsaal 1 oder 2 der Universitätsinstitute Kinderspitalgasse 15 abzuhalten.

- Epidemiology of HIV infection / AIDS
- Origin of HIV; routes and risk factors for HIV infection;
- Symptoms of HIV disease; pathogenesis
- Biochemistry of the replication cycle of HIV: target molecules
for chemotherapy
- Inhibitors of adsorption / penetration/ uncoating
- Inhibitors of reverse transcription / integration
- Inhibitors of protease and maturation of virus particles
- Cellular factors, e. g. cytokines, chemokines, as potential
target molecules for chemotherapy
- Status and new approaches towards the development of an
effective vaccine
This lecture is suitable for students of Medicine as well as for students of Microbiology / Molecular Biology.
The lecture will be given in May/June 2011 in the lecture room 1 or 2 of the Medical University Institutes, Kinderspitalgasse 15. In April 2011 a meeting will be announced about the topics of this lecture; at this occasion the precise dates of the lecture will be agreed with the interested students.
