Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Trace fossils are potentially a good source of information about benthic life, palaeoenvironmental parameters, and sequence stratigraphy. The lectures will function as a bridge between the living burrowing faunas and trace fossils. It is conceived in two parts, neoichnology and palaeoichnology and will support the knowledge of basic tools for the reconstruction of fossil ecosystems and their development in space and time.
