Obligatory preliminary discussion on Tuesday, 2016-03-01, 12.30 in lecture room 7 (Anatomy), Biozentrum UZA1, Althanstraße 14.
Practical class starts on Tuesday, 2016-03-08, 10.00-12.45 (for group 1 and 2) and on Wednesday, 2016-03-09, 10.00 - 12.45 (for group 3) in experimental garden "Augarten", Obere Augartenstraße 1a, 1020 Wien.

Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Written protocol, final discussion, regular attendance, collaboration. A maximum of 2 units may be missed.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students should learn to work autonomous, to cope with ecological tasks, especially in breeding and propagation of plants as well as implementation of these experiments at school.
Most of the experiments selected can be performed easily at school.

Germination physiology and allelopathy, plant breeding and cultivation, working mechanisms of phytoeffectors, knowledge and cultivation of indoor and outdoor plants and an excursion to an
agricultural plant / factory.
The course deals with plant physiological principles and methods used in nurseries and horticulture. Practical examples are conducted in small groups, results are evaluated and presented.
Excursions impart further knowledge.
Many of the practical examples can be implemented at school.
