Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Collaboration during the practical class, short midterm testing (multiple choice), final written examination to test the acquired knowledge, providing a short written protocol
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Fundamental knowledge of the presented plant physiological topics. Point-based system: For a positive graduation 60 % of the points have to be reached. Into the evaluation collaboration, intermediate testing, short protocol and written main examination are integrated.

- Molecules: Carbohydrates, fats, proteins, enzymes, pigments of plastides
and cells
- Metabolism: fermentation, respiration, photosynthesis
- Ecophysiology: germination, perception and movement, water relations
The lecture addresses the special needs of future biology teachers. Besides the essential biochemistry and metabolism, control mechanisms of growth and development, signal transduction and plant water relations are also taken in account. For each lesson a complementary practical part represents easy to do and instructive experiments designed for the demands of teaching biology.
