The preliminary meeting will take place on 08.10.2020 at 16:30 in Kurssaal of the Natural History Museum, Burgring 7, 1010 Vienna, side entrance.
The course will take place on 4 days in Janury 2021. Further details at the preliminary meeting

Aims, contents and method of the course

Practical course for DNA-analyses of museum material (aDNA): special requirements and procedures for primer design, sample taking, DNA extraction and PCR amplification of specific marker sequences, as well as data evaluation and discussion of results.

Assessment and permitted materials

Attendance on at least 3 days is indispensable for a positive graduation.
1) Active participation in practical work and discussions : 40%
3) presentation and abstract of own work 40%
3) short written exam (3-4 questions) during the course 20%
