Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The student learns to deal with the following topics: 1) Conceptual framework of co-evolution and related topics 2) Significance of co-evolutionary processes and syndromes in plant evolution 3) Recognition of co-evolutionary patterns across a broad range of plant traits 4) Mutualistic and antagonistic relationships in the evolutionary context. The student gains practical knowledge concerning biological activities of selected secondary plant metabolites, which may be co-evolutionary significance.

Assessment and permitted materials

Presentation in Seminar: 50%
Labwork: 20%
Protocol to practical part: 30%

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Presentation and discussion of selected topics , completed by analysis of biotic interactions in context of coevolutionary processes

Examination topics
